The Indian River Lagoon is a series of lagoons and inlets extending along the east coast of Florida from Volusia County to Martin County. The combination of freshwater from the Atlantic Ocean and inland runoff creates diverse conditions of vegetation and marshland that is ideal for such inhabitants as mammals, birds, fish and reptiles. |
